Hello my Loves,
Im sure i’m not the only one who believes the new launch of Fenty Beauty is equivalent to the birth of baby Jesus. For some less borderline shopaholics and less clinically makeup mad, perhaps it isn’t as life affirming. However, after finally getting my hands on her collection, I can say all my prayers have been answered.
For those of who don’t know and have manage to divert the Fenty frenzy, Rihanna’s collection includes an extensive 40 shade range on her latest Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. This product retails for £26 for 32ml, so for my high end huns- don’t you worry about those over drafts girls!
This foundation is described as soft matte, long-wear foundation with buildable, medium to full coverage. Its aim is to bring a pore-defused and shine free finish to your makeup looks with a smooth appearance. For those of you oily skin sufferers like myself, this beautiful creation has a mattifying effect due to it’s oil free formula. This was literally music to my ears. For you gals who are on the dryer side don’t be put off, this formula is a soft-matte finish which isn’t too drying on the skin. The benefits of this product are endless, sweat proof, humidity proof, light on the skin AND still allows for a natural skin look. The total package.
The recommendations for applying this product advise those with dryer skin to moisturise prior to applying this foundation and following this with their Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer which retails for £24. This collection does in fact include a foundation brush which is designed to be used with this foundation the Full-Bodied Foundation Brush 110, however I have too much of a strong attachment to my beauty blender but this still gave me my desired finish. The great thing about this product is that a little goes a long way. For me personally, constantly building coverage becomes quite tedious so having a foundation that blends so beautifully and covers so easily is a godsend.
Although I have preached this foundation I must add that there have been a couple of reports of this foundation breaking people out. I can’t say that i’ve experienced this myself but there have been a couple of reports. I personally wouldn’t let this overshadow your view- You should deffo give it a try ladies.
I matched this foundation with the good old faithful- Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer. This combo blended beautifully and hardly moved after applying my Stay Matte Powder.
The next purchase I made was the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo. This beautiful creation also retails for £26. Theres a selection of 4 highlighter duo’s and after what seemed like a lifetime, I finally settled on the Mean Money and Hu$tla Baby duo. Mean Money is described as a soft, champagne sheen whereas hu$tla baby is a more champagne shimmer with subtle peachy tones. The consistency of these products are literally a dream. They’re buttery, creamy and not to mention pigmented. What I like most about this duo is that they double as a soft and natural day highlight to a bomb-ass blind a bitch going out glow (Excuse my language).
Just like the foundation, these duo’s have shades to suit all. Their weightlessness and long-lasting finish is perfect for those on the run girls who don’t have time to do the whole fix+ spray and highlighter building application. They’re able to melt seamlessly into the skin and blends effortlessly when paired with the foundation. Again, just like the foundation, Rihanna has created a highlighter brush known as the Cheek-Hugging Highlight Brush 120 which is advised to apply this product. Obviously any highlighter brush will do the trick! For this I used the Bare Essentials – Seamless blending brush which worked well for me. These shades are perfect for an overall glow as they can also be used on collar bones, shoulders.. basically you can drown yourself in this product and look like a golden, glowing queen.
Unfortunately these two products are the only two I can review at the moment. Although, I can assure you in the VERY near future I’m sure my collection will grow. Especially on the build up to Christmas which I’m sure my bank balance won’t be happy about but hey! you gotta get the glow going. Other products that i’ve got my little eye on include the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer at £16 and the Match Stix Trio at £46 – although these are sold separately for £21. Perfect for a stocking filler or secret santa gift for the holiday’s girls!
If you want to know how I got any of the looks during this post just leave it in the comment and I can leave a step by step guide on products and instructions. Hope you’ve enjoyed the read. Again, if there’s anything else you’d like a review on just lemme know.
For now goodbye.
Lots of Love,
